Nathan Osburn

Nate serves as communications director for the Office of Innovation, developing and implementing communications strategies that help the team advance its mission. This includes media relations, digital engagement, executive communications, and more.
Previously, Nate was deputy commissioner for communications at the U.S. Social Security Administration, leading a large integrated team and heightening national coverage surrounding the agency’s efforts to improve customer service. Prior to that, he served as deputy associate administrator for public affairs at the U.S. General Services Administration, helping tout the job-creation and sustainability impacts of historic efforts such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. He has also worked in communications in tech, nonprofit, and academic settings.
Nate earned his master’s in strategic communications from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He also holds bachelors degrees in public relations and vocal music - both from the University of Oklahoma.
