Elizabeth Zhang

Elizabeth Zhang is a software engineer working on the Residence Experience Initiative. She develops internal tools and solutions that enhance and expand the Office’s capacity to improve the lives of New Jersey residents.

Elizabeth previously joined the Office through the Coding it Forward fellowship. Prior to the Office, she interned at a small AI startup and contributed to research projects at her university as a developer. Her past work includes engineering an AI assistant for exploring education data and building a website to track lobbying activity in state legislatures. She is passionate about leveraging technology responsibly to serve the public.

Born and raised in Central Jersey, Elizabeth graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s in computer science and biology. Outside of work, she enjoys bouldering, exploring cities through their food, and attending live performances of all kinds.
